Victory in Silence
Scriptural Reference: Colossians 4:6 kjv "Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man." There is victory in silence. I grew up in the 'hood. No excuses. No shame. Just the 'hood. The smell of fried chicken wafting through hot kitchen open windows. The staggering drunk singing, 'Wooopiee LaLa Lee!' Kids of all ages running up and down the street. Jump rope. Hop scotch. Patty cake and relay races. We would play up and down our block until the street lights came on. Then all the neighborhood kids would rush home for dinner like tiny birds to the nests in the trees. The mama's would watch out for the neighborhood children. Those "neighborhood mama's" would even tattle to the parents when the 'neighbor child' was being disobedient away from home (where they thought no one would see.) (Don't ask me how I know...)
