Leaves, Snowflakes, Fingerprints, and You

Scripture Reference: Psalm 139:14

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”

 I love the way JESUS teaches me. He suddenly opens my eyes to see a revelation of HIS tender-kindness and loving-mercies towards me an individual on a planet of millions.

At first this situation may seem so banal you may yawn. It happened like this…

I was running an errand and not in my familiar surroundings. I was a little distracted and paused to be sure I had completed every task. I was also making sure I had everything with me before I locked the door behind me and headed for home. Suddenly, a thought came into my mind.

“Where is your phone?”

I didn’t think, “Where is my phone?”

The thought in my mind was, “Where is your phone?”

I paused.

I was about to leave without my phone. I was about to drive all the way home and then realize I left my phone here. I’d have to drive back to this location, find the phone, and then drive home again.

But….

As I was standing at the door about to leave my phone suddenly the thought, “Where is your phone?” came into my mind.

I looked up to heaven and cried out, “JESUS, you see me!!! You know me. You care for me. There are millions of people on this earth right now. Billions of issues and events happening everywhere and you take the time to bring my phone to my mind before I leave it here! Wow!!! Thank you!!” I stood there worshiping the LORD with joyful tears streaming down my cheeks because The LORD GOD sees me. 

As I wiped my eyes I looked to my left and there on the counter was my phone. As I picked it up, I sighed with relief and amazement.

This 20 second exchange between my Heavenly Father and I was just another reason why I love HIM so much more than my words can convey.

The LORD GOD creates every leaf with the tiniest stitches individually and uniquely. There are innumerable leaves on uncountable plants and trees (in backyards, rain forests, potted plants, tiny window-sill gardens, and kindergartener’s dirt cups) all over the world right now. The same LORD GOD who makes those beautiful leaves sees me. The same LORD GOD who makes those beautiful leaves sees you.

The LORD GOD creates every icicle chain of a snowflake. The intricate beauty of a snowflake can best be seen under a microscope. The ever-varying kaleidoscope designs of each snowflake are testifying HIS own hands crafting that melting masterpiece. There are uncharted slopes capped white. Windy caverns, peaks, and arctic ravines where the droplets become flakes of snow the human eye will never behold. The same LORD GOD who makes those vanishing snowflake ice sculptures sees me. The same LORD GOD who makes those vanishing snowflake ice sculptures sees you.

Pause for a moment and reflect on that truth. This truth is not about religious dogma or unattainable personal perfection. The truth is humanity is wonderfully flawed. Make a sober assessment of your own mind and heart and you will have to admit that universal truth. We are cared for by the only Father who will love us with a perfect perfecting love.

Every person matters to The LORD GOD. Everyone is irreplaceable, irreplicable, and the only one that will ever be. You are not a clone, rubber stamped, or mass produced. The unique fingerprint on every finger and thumb on your hand testifies that you are special.

You may not feel special because perhaps you were not affirmed as you grew from infant to adult. You may not feel able to believe you are priceless because you heard too many angry words spitting vulgar language at your tender heart. Or perhaps you have treated yourself cheaply and allowed your reckless choices to land you in a crappy situation and you think the crap you’re in is you.

Well please believe me when I tell you, you are precious in the Lord’s sight. He sees you as a tender leaf and He will not crush you in His Almighty hand. You are the tender leaf and tiny snowflake He designed to be a beautiful showpiece of His intricate care. You are His unique son. You are His unique daughter. Every shade of complexion. Every curve and bone of you reflects His personal care in your design. His breath is what you inhale all day and night. His Life is what you live in every moment.

Remember this frequently until you know this and forget any lie you are ever told.

  • GOD poured Himself into flesh to become my Savior, JESUS.
  • JESUS is GOD’s Love personified for me.
  • LOVE loves me.

As the Father has Loved Me

Scriptural Reference: John 15:9 ‘As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.’ In this scripture JESUS speaks of HIS intimate, bonded, and deep familial relationship to GOD as HIS parent. JESUS is the expressed personage and fullness of GOD manifested in skin, blood, and bones. The Father, who is GOD, becomes the SON housed in a mortal body in time and simultaneously remains in eternity without diminishing one state of being for the other. The SON is the Father mediating, redeeming, restoring and bridging the gap between sinful man and the holiness of GOD. JESUS in HIS sacrificial offering at Calvary stood pressed between the chasms of eternity and time so that whosoever would come could come and be reconciled to SON-ship, heir-ship, joint heir-ship with CHRIST JESUS in GOD. Up for air. Getting a clear breath.

Hello dear friends and readers, To put it mildly, I've been through a season of devastation. I walked through the valley shadowed by the death of my dreams, the destruction of my expectations, and I collided with truths that left me weeping when awake, weeping while dreaming, and weeping while trying to understand my hearts utter breaking. I was in this graveyard until I had a vision I survived an apocalypse. I didn't know I would be alright until I saw myself walking away from the rubble in the vision GOD mercifully sent to let me know I would live and not die. My first glimpses of hope came when I could think about the disappointment and not hate the one(s) who utterly disappointed me. The more I could see myself plainly, and learn how I contributed to my own suffering, the more I knew healing. Live John 4:24

Scriptural Reference: John 4:24, "GOD is a Spirit, and they that worship HIM must worship HIM in spirit and truth." I need JESUS 24 hours of every day.
