Betrayal and Loss

Scriptural Reference: Psalm 34:14 ‘Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.’ I’ve been traveling a gruesome and bloody road. Frequently falling down and rising up. Laying quiet while waiting for the pain to resolve. Walking with unsteady gait, eyes blurred, and head muddled. With tear streaked cheeks and aching heart I have stumbled into this moment when I think I might be near to something like acceptance. Something like forgiveness. Something like release and relief.  About this time of year, 26 years ago, some choices were made and injuries incurred that fractured lives invisibly and visibly. Recently, I heard a voice, heart, and mind speak to me. Their stated words sounded like a resolution. I think I understood their words to be a firm intent and forthright revelation. At Ease

Scriptural Reference: John 8:32 (KJV) "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Ephesians 4:25 (KJV) "But speaking the truth in love...."   Full sigh and deep breath.  Repeat. This is the way I am right now and since some special dear people who love me have spoken life transforming truth(s) to me.  There are occasions when we may find ourselves in conversations about our lives that has been witnessed by long-time friends, and close family relations. Our mutual proximity to one another is often a place where true bonds of emotional vulnerability and trust are created and strengthened with time. I am so grateful to JESUS for providing such an environment and persons who promote this type of atmosphere in my life. I know that this is not common. I am certain this is unique. I am not surprised that few groups, and fewer families, know this precious treasure. I celebrate JESUS grace in providing the confidante(s), companion(s), and true friend(s)...

Leaves, Snowflakes, Fingerprints, and You

Scripture Reference: Psalm 139:14 “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works;  and that my soul knoweth right well. ”   I love the way JESUS teaches me. He suddenly opens my eyes to see a revelation of HIS tender-kindness and loving-mercies towards me an individual on a planet of millions. At first this situation may seem so banal you may yawn. It happened like this… I was running an errand and not in my familiar surroundings. I was a little distracted and paused to be sure I had completed every task. I was also making sure I had everything with me before I locked the door behind me and headed for home. Suddenly, a thought came into my mind. “Where is your phone?” I didn’t think, “Where is my phone?” The thought in my mind was, “Where is your phone?” I paused. I was about to leave without my phone. Pray

Scriptural Reference: 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (kjv) "Pray without ceasing." 1 John 5:14-15 (kjv) "And this is the confidence that we have in HIM, that, if we ask any thing according to HIS will, HE heareth us: and if we know that HE hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of HIM." Colossians 1:17 (kjv) "And HE is before all things, and by HIM all things subsist."   It takes prayer to quiet ones heart and mind in faith. It takes faith to quiet ones heart and mind in prayer.   I, like many believers in JESUS, am sometimes amazed at how simultaneously easy and difficult this life of faith can be. Not because of haranguing sorrow or by exultant fist shaking troubles that arrive suddenly. Nothing so roaring and rallying as that. I think it is rather, the ordinary tedious day after day of a life of faith that can tax the soul to plumb its depths until the bottom is arrived at solidly.
